How to connect a printer

  1. Prepare the printer. Use a compatible Epson ePOS model. Connect the printer and iPad to the same reachable local network, and give the printer internet access and the correct date and time.
  2. Enable printing. Turn on ePOS-Print in the printer settings. On a TM-T88VI, open EpsonNet Config for TM-i → Services → ePOS-Print → Enable, then Apply & Restart.
  3. Enable secure access. Turn on Epson’s Automatic Update of CA-signed certificates on supported firmware. Wait until the printer uses a trusted CA-signed certificate and Epson publishes its secure name. A self-signed certificate or an IP alone cannot connect to this HTTPS website.
  4. Add it on this iPad. Find the printer’s exact 10-character serial number (letters count) and current IP on its label or status sheet. Tap Add new printer, enter a name and serial, then enter the IP or leave it blank for Epson’s published IP. Keep the device ID as local_printer unless your Epson uses another ID. Tap Detect & connect.
  5. Test and reuse it. If the model is not detected, choose it and check the paper width. Tap Print test receipt. Later, choose it from Saved printers. If its IP changes, select it, enter the new IP and run Detect & connect again.

Each printer has its own serial number and secure name. Saved printer lists stay in this browser on this iPad; repeat setup on other iPads. For TM-T88VI, Epson’s automatic certificate update requires ESC/POS firmware 40.60A/B or later.

Connection & receipt settings

01

Select a saved printer or add another. The secure printer name follows the printer when its IP changes.

The connection check uses no paper. An exact model name is shown only if the printer makes it available to the browser.

Enter the printer's current IP, then check it or print a test receipt. The secure name is used for printing and automatically follows Epson's updated IP.

Direct printing requires a compatible Epson ePOS model and a valid secure printer name. An IP alone cannot be used from this HTTPS website. If the browser asks to access local devices, allow it.

INTEGRATIONS

Connect another website

04

Include the integration script on your website and call it from that website’s Print button. The first print asks for approval on this iPad; later prints go straight to the Epson.

<script src="https://print.zak369.com/bridge.js?v=2"></script>
<button onclick="ZAKPrinter.printReceipt({
  title: 'Reservation notes',
  reference: 'R-11372',
lines: ['Guest: Sample Guest', 'Arrival: 02 Nov 2026'],
  footer: 'Printed from my website'
})">Print</button>

Call printReceipt directly from a tap or click so Safari can open the printer page. Receipt data is sent between tabs on this iPad, not placed in the website URL.
